Threads, fits and tolerances

Dimensions without a tolerance are made to ISO 2768-m. You mark threads and fits on the 3D model or on the PDF drawing.

HexoParts technical standard

Anything the documentation does not specify is made to this standard:

  • general tolerances ISO 2768-m for linear and angular dimensions, form and position tolerances only from the drawing,
  • threads according to the drawing, without a stated class 6H or 6g,
  • edges broken and deburred (chamfer approx. 0.2-0.5 mm),
  • roughness Ra 3.2 µm on machined surfaces, tool marks permitted,
  • no cosmetic requirements unless ordered,
  • material as ordered, 3.1 certificate to EN 10204 on request (at extra cost),
  • exactly the quantity ordered, parts packed against movement and corrosion.

How to specify threads and fits

  • On the 3D model: click a hole in the preview or tick it in the list. Threads detected in the model are ticked by default.
  • On the PDF drawing: internal and external threads, fits (e.g. H7), roughness and form tolerances.
  • Choose a fit only for holes that mate with another part, e.g. a bearing or a pin. Every fit raises the machining cost.

Plastics do not hold ISO 286 fits. Describe critical dimensions of plastic parts on the drawing.
