Plastic CNC machining

Slides, guides, rollers, bushings and insulating parts in engineering plastics. You place the order with a file, and a shop that machines plastics every day makes it.

Materials
POM-C, PA6, PEEK
Fixed price straight away
POM-C and PA6, general tolerances, 1-200 pcs
Processes
milling, turning, waterjet cutting of plates 5-50 mm
File
STEP for CNC, DXF for waterjet

CNC milling of plastics

Plates, slides, guides and fixture parts milled from POM-C, PA6 and PEEK. A simple POM-C or PA6 part gets a fixed price straight away and goes to the shops' board.

Turning plastics

Sliding bushings, rollers, rings and spacers turned on CNC lathes. The system recognises a turned part in the STEP file.

POM-C, PA6 or PEEK

  • POM-C: good sliding properties and dimensional stability, a common choice for slides and wheels.
  • PA6: cheaper and strong, but absorbs moisture, so dimensions can change.
  • PEEK: for high temperatures and chemicals, noticeably more expensive.

Ordering from the EU

Questions

Plastic CNC machining: frequently asked questions

Do plastics hold tolerances like metal?

Plastics expand with temperature more than metal. Mark critical dimensions on the drawing: shops that account for it quote such an order.

Is there a minimum order?

No, we also make single pieces.

Plastic CNC machining service

Engineering plastics such as POM-C, PA6 and PEEK are light, low-friction and insulating. They are used for slides, guides, rollers, gears and insulating parts. Plastics behave differently from metal when machined: they expand more with heat and spring back. That is why these orders go to shops that machine plastics regularly.

From one piece

There is no minimum quantity. You send the STEP file and a drawing with the critical dimensions. Plates from 5 to 50 mm can be pre-cut by waterjet.

Plastic or aluminium?

Where weight, sliding or insulation matter, plastic is often the better choice. If the part needs stiffness and tight tolerances across temperature changes, aluminium is usually cheaper and more stable.
