Sheet metal cutting and bending to order

Enclosures, brackets, channels and angles. You place the order with a 3D model of the finished part (after bending), and shops with a laser and press brake quote cutting and bending together.

01Typical orders

What customers order most

Examples, not a closed list. The order goes to shops whose machines fit the size and material of your part.

01

Enclosures and cabinets

Boxes, lids and panels in sheet metal, often with cut-outs for electrics.

02

Brackets and angles

Mounting parts with one or several bends.

03

Channels and profiles

Press-braked profiles when a standard section does not fit.

04

Machine guards

Guards in galvanised, stainless or powder-coated sheet.

02What sets the price

What we look at in your part

Scroll to see what decides price and manufacturing. These are the same things the shop checks before accepting the order.

  1. 01 · 90° bend, R 2

    Bends and radius

Every bend is a press stroke and every different radius is a tool change. The same radius across the part lowers the price.

  2. 02 · flange ≥ 4 × t

    Flange length

The press has to grip the sheet: the shortest flange is usually 3-4 sheet thicknesses. Shorter ones must be lengthened or redesigned.

  3. 03 · distance ≥ 3 × t

    Holes near bends

A hole too close to the bend line stretches into an oval. Keep at least 2-3 sheet thicknesses away or add a relief cut.

  4. 04 · DC01, t = 2 mm

    Material and thickness

Sheet thickness and grade decide the tooling and accuracy. A 3D model after bending lets the shop prepare the flat pattern for its own tools.

What drives the price

Bending is quoted by shops in a closed tender: the number of bends, bend line length and tooling affect the price too much to give it automatically. You get the price within 24-48 h.

03Order path

From file to acceptance: always the same path.

05Questions

Sheet metal bending: frequently asked questions

Why is there no instant price for bending?

The price depends on the bending sequence and the tools in the shop. That is why several shops quote it, and you get one price.

Can I send a DXF flat pattern?

Upload the 3D model after bending. The shop makes the flat pattern for its own tools, and the model lets us check dimensions after bending.

Learn more about sheet metal bending

Sheet metal bending to order

A press brake turns a flat blank into an enclosure, bracket, angle or channel. You order bending together with laser cutting: the shop cuts the flat pattern, bends it and measures the parts before shipping. One contract, one invoice, one party responsible for the dimensions.

Steel, stainless steel and aluminium

We bend mild steel, galvanised sheet, stainless steel and aluminium on press brakes suited to the bend length and thickness. For a quote we need the 3D model of the part after bending; the shop calculates the flat pattern for its own tooling. Bend radius and minimum flange length depend on the thickness and belong on the drawing. If anything is unclear, the shop asks through the platform before production.

Bent parts from one piece

There is no minimum: one enclosure prototype or a batch of brackets. Bent parts are quoted by several vetted shops and you get one price with a date. Finished parts can be powder coated or zinc plated, see materials and finishes.

Sheet metal fabrication services in one order

Our sheet metal fabrication services cover laser and waterjet cutting, bending on CNC press brakes, deburring and powder coating. You order the whole sheet metal fabrication service as one job with one invoice.
