Steel milling services
We mill structural steel S235, carbon steel C45 and alloy steel 42CrMo4. An S235 part with general tolerances gets a fixed price straight away, C45 and 42CrMo4 are quoted by shops in a closed tender within 24-48 h.
Milled steel parts with a surface finish
Zinc plating and black oxide have a fixed price together with machining. Powder coating is quoted by shops. You order everything in one order.

Do you heat-treat parts?
Describe heat treatment in the order notes: it is quoted in a tender if the shop has a partner for it.
Do you make parts from steel sheet?
Yes. Flat parts are laser cut (S235 2-20 mm) or waterjet cut (up to 100 mm) from DXF.

Steel CNC machining: S235, C45, 42CrMo4
Mild steel S235 is the cheapest material for plates, brackets and frame parts. C45 is used for shafts and parts that will be hardened, 42CrMo4 for highly loaded parts. Steel machines more slowly than aluminium but costs less as a material, so it pays off on large, solid parts.
Finishes: zinc plated, black oxide, powder coated
Steel parts rust without protection. On request they are zinc plated, black oxided or powder coated, see materials. You specify the finish in your enquiry and it is included in the price and date.
Steel, stainless steel or aluminium?
For parts in contact with water or food, stainless steel is the right choice. Where weight matters, aluminium is usually cheaper to machine.
