3D printed prototypes: which process
- Form model
- FDM in PLA or PETG: low cost, to check shape and assembly.
- Functional prototype
- SLS or MJF in PA12: strong, without supports, close to the production part.
- Visual model
- SLA in resin: smooth surface and fine detail for presentation and design.
3D printed small batches instead of an injection mould
Up to a few hundred pieces, 3D printing is often cheaper than an injection mould, especially while the design is still changing. In a series order you set the batch size, the number of batches and the delivery rhythm, and the batch price stays the same until the series ends.
Confidentiality of your design
The file is seen only by partners with a confidentiality agreement, and without your company name. You have the contract and invoice with HexoParts, and claims go through us.
